Cantor Jenna Sagan

Cantor Jenna Sagan has been a dedicated leader in the Los Angeles and Orange County Jewish communities for over 20 years. With a deep passion for Jewish life, education, and music, she has enriched countless lives through her spiritual guidance and teaching. Her journey began in childhood, singing in choirs and leading youth services, eventually merging her love of music and Judaism into a lifelong calling. She earned a B.A. in Acting from UCLA, where she also led Shabbat services, studied Jewish texts, and deepened her connection to Jewish practice. She then earned her dual Judaic and General Studies teaching degree at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles.

Jenna's career as an educator and spiritual leader has spanned over a decade, with roles at University Synagogue in Brentwood, the Hebrew Academy in Huntington Beach, and various cantorial positions. She co-founded the Jewish a cappella group "Shir Energy" and led High Holy Day services for multiple congregations. In 2014, she joined Congregation B’nai Tzedek as cantorial soloist, becoming a cornerstone of the community through her pastoral care, B’nai Mitzvah mentorship, and interfaith work with the Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council.

After six years of dedicated study under Hazzan Laurie Rimland-Bonn, Jenna earned her cantorial certification in 2023 and became a proud member of the Cantors Assembly and the Guild of Temple Musicians. Now serving as senior clergy at Congregation B’nai Tzedek, she continues to inspire her community with her leadership and devotion. Alongside her husband, Dr. Sean Sagan, and their daughters, Lianna and Estee, she cherishes the opportunity to nurture the next generation within this vibrant spiritual home.
